Dr Joshua L. Bowie Sr.

Dr. Joshua L. Bowie, Sr. was born on October 17, 1954, to Jessie Lee and Juanita Bowie and grew up with his six siblings: Barbara, Omis, Jesse, Oretha, Deray, Reginald, and Jeanette. His early life was marked by both achievements and challenges. At 18, he felt invincible, but by the age of 20, he encountered significant personal difficulties. After receiving an honorable discharge from the military in 1974, Bishop Bowie experienced a profound calling from God that led him to seek a deeper relationship with the Body of Christ. His spiritual journey began at the Missionary Baptist Church and continued at New Day Deliverance Holiness Church under Apostle R. Taylor, where he embraced Jesus and was filled with the Holy Spirit in 1975.

Following five transformative years at New Day Deliverance, Bishop Bowie discerned his calling to the Gospel Ministry and started preaching at open-air services and revivals. He served as Pastor of New Day Revival Center in Galveston before moving on to Houston. Inspired by a divine vision, he founded the Church of Foundational Truth, where he continues to lead with unwavering commitment. His impactful ministry was recognized with an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Gospel Ministry Outreach Theology Institution in 2018.
