Dr. Joshua L. Bowie, Sr.
Joshua Bowie, Sr., born on October 17, 1954, to Jessie Lee and Juanita Bowie, grew up with his six siblings: Barbara, Omis, Jesse, Oretha, Deray, Reginald, and Jeanette. His early life included both triumphs and challenges. At 18, he felt invincible, but by 20, he faced significant personal struggles. After an honorable military discharge in 1974, Bishop Bowie experienced a profound calling from God, prompting him to seek a deeper connection with the Body of Christ. His spiritual journey began at the Missionary Baptist Church and continued at New Day Deliverance Holiness Church under Apostle R. Taylor, where he embraced Jesus and was filled with the Holy Spirit in 1975.
After five transformative years at New Day Deliverance, Bishop Bowie recognized his calling to the Gospel Ministry and began preaching at open-air services and revivals. He served as Pastor of New Day Revival Center in Galveston and later in Houston. Inspired by a divine vision, he founded the Church of Foundational Truth, where he continues to lead with dedication. His impactful ministry earned him an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Gospel Ministry Outreach Theology Institution in 2018.
Bishop Bowie presents 11 books that reflect his spiritual insights and teachings, supporting readers in their faith journeys. He is supported by his wife, Lady Mary A. Bowie. Together, they nurture a life rooted in faith and service, blessed with six children and many grandchildren. Through his daily broadcasts, including Expository Teaching and Tuesday Prayer, he guides others in their faith journeys.
